Umbilical cables
AUT weld equipment – ultrasonic testing – umbilical cables
UT Scan's tailor-made umbilical cables hold the necessary wiring between the scanner and the computer. This incorporates all cables required to manipulate the scanner, and to transmit and receive data between the UT Scan system and the scanner.
The umbilical also incorporates the waterlines to guarantee a constant flow of coupling to the probes. Standard lengths of 15 meters and 50 meters are used, but up to 200 meters can be used without any loss of quality. A 50 meter umbilical will reach all welds and repairs with ease. The total cycle time to move from one weld to the next one on the mainline is normally less than 3 minutes.
